Mono Pitch Roofs

Purlin design on Mono pitch roofs is the same as for Duo pitch roofs but additional consideration is needed on how the down slope component of the roof loading is supported and transmitted back to the primary roof beams.

For Mono pitch one set of diagonal ties and a tube strut are required for every 20m of roof slope or alternatively the purlins can be supported off a suitable hot rolled member at the high eaves or the cladding can be designed to act as a diaphragm to transmit the down slope load to the purlin cleats.
