NEW LONG SPAN COMPOSITE FLOORDECK LAUNCHED BY KINGSPAN

New Multideck 146 from Kingspan Structural Products goes to great lengths to provide a high performance structural steel deck for composite floor slabs – spanning up to six metres without propping.

Designed to optimise composite floor construction, the system offers the longest clear span of any UK trapezoidal deck profile, eliminating the need for secondary steelwork and where required can produce a shallow floor construction depth of just 215mm.

Another key benefit of the 146mm deep profile is the economic volume of concrete needed to form the floor slab. Compared with the next best spanning 80mm trapezoidal deck, Multideck 146 requires 31% less concrete to produce the same slab depth. This means reduced weight, so potential savings in the size and cost of the supporting structure can be made.

Without the need for props Multidek 146 is quickly installed. This means reduced project completion times, enhanced by speedier laying and drying times offered by reduced concrete volumes.

A further reduction in installation time can be achieved thanks to Multideck 146’s compatibility with beams that have pre-fixed shear studs. This solution is often preferred where site logistics and health & safety are an issue.
